Oh man! Good luck! Them critters creep me out. They're tuff to get rid of too. Even when a Pro does it. Stay on top of it. Don't worry about your BBS. Plenty of them to go around for everyone. Also make yourself a list who's coming into your home. My folks had them critters in their apartment. My father needed in home aids and nurses. They go from house to house and can bring them critters into the home. Just be aware of your guests.

    Richard,

just letting yall know that my board will be down for 2-4 hours due to bombing the apartment for bedbugs

Bummer. From what I understand, only intense heat or strong
insecticide will kill them. Then, you have to wash your clothes,
bed items, etc. in hot water, or burn them.

in my apartment building i had a neighbor that had bedbugs and he left. somehow that stuff got under my door or between the heating element and made it over to my side.

it was like being violated. i never saw them but i had those 3 bites when i would wake up in the morning. it would take several months for them to go away.

eventually i just left my bedroom and i slept on the couch for a few months.
i bombed the bedroom and i put diatomacious earth everywhere and vaccumed it up.
they can hide in your wallsockets, in smoke detectors, anyplace. and they can hybernate when in trouble and you cant kill them with anything. luckily they do not spread disease.

Perhaps bomb it from orbit just to be sure. :P

Really. Whenever I travel (which is rare anymore), the first thing
I do is check the mattress for "red dots", known as "freckles". The
bedbugs bite you, then "poop out the blood". The saying "Don't Let
The Bedbugs Bite" does have merit, unfortunately.

And, they're in cities, big and small. You definitely don't want
    them "hitching a ride home".

I keep all the clothes in the bathroom, and take a hot shower.
That will wash them down the drain, or kill them.

get some of those plastic cd spindel things. you know that cylinder that goes over a stack of dvds and cds.

put your bed legs in each of them and put some DE in there.
move your bed away from the wall.
put it on your box spring if you have it.
get a nice big bag of it from a feed store. dust it everywhere and vac it up.

put it on your couch, all over the place.
throw it at the walls down by the baseboards.
put it on the carpet and let it sit for a day and vac it up when you get home from work.

keep doing this and then vac it up. toss the stuff you vac outside asap.

keep doing this and you will have no form of bug in your home.

Best of luck getting rid of those bastards. We had a family member move in with us temporarily and brought them into the house once. We tried a few different chemicals and DE and nothing worked. We ended up having to pay an exterminator to bring in some huge heaters and fans and heat the entire house up to kill them off. That was money well spent. We finally got rid of them and I could get some sleep.

I think what is often done is to bring the room/apartment/house
temperatures up to 120-140F with fans circulating the air... Of course turning all electronics off.

that's a fad thing they've been doing. they have a vehicle outside that has a wood burning hopper and they pipe in the hot air.

anyways, it's impossible to get the entire dwelling hot enough everywhere to kill bedbugs. they can also hybernate and become pretty impossible to kill.

DE is the best way to kill any insect. it's a physical method that always works.
