    Hi all,

Loving the updated BinkIT whenever that was. My system seems to be
polling correctly with it instead of relying on an FTN mailer such
as Radius or Taurus constantly crashing.

Yeah, I started using BinkIt quite a while ago and stopped using Radius. It seems to work fairly well. And since BinkIt is written in JS, I can still keep using it if I decide to move my Synchronet BBS from Windows to Linux (whereas Radius only runs on Windows).

BinkIT even seems better than the built BinkP in Mystic. Mystic hasn't
been kind to me when polling BBBS software also. BinkIT seems to handle
the job I need it for.

Believe me, I've had my share of switching between Windows and Linux as
far running a Synchronet board. It's been fun being on the BBS scene and looking forward to what more is in store in the scene.

I've stuck with Windows for my Synchronet setup since I started my current BBS in 2007, but I've thought of switching it over to Linux. I just haven't yet.. I start to think about doing it, but then I feel like if it's not broken, don't fix it. :P

That's cool. I switch because I get bored with an OS. I'd like to get a system that can run the other one so I have my pick which one to work on.

Right now, most of my boards are on vServers, so they've been more reliable
to connect. Windows for my Synchronet I'm running now seems to be working pretty good. I got all my door games working except for parts of
InterBBSing; but that's for another day.

    Sincerely,
    Jon Justvig

well i have to update to a newer OS in linux to use the latest synchronet version. i have a lot of stuff running on that vm and i think it would do more harm than good. i'm going to roll another vm but i am tempted to just use windows.

oh i didnt see your reply.

i thought my glibc version was too old.

i'll just compile it on a fresh system.
or i'll run it on windows. i dont have time for tinkering.

Aren't you referring to the error you received when trying to run my prebuilt Linux-x64 binaries?

    i
have compiled it in this vm before (older versions) about 3 times.

    Should still be doable then.

I have not run the windows version of SBBS however I am running on Debian 10 and really have no issues. I run several VM's here at the house and personally roll a new VM for each server I wish to run. I find it keep most things runnign smoothly and being debian doesn't require major up keep unlink a ubuntu install.

    For what it is worth.

    i tried both things.
i googled the error it gave me when i tried to run the binaries and it said my glibc was too old in the hits i got.

when i compiled it it was barfing out errors by the hundreds.

i know i'm not being helpful here with my error reporting. i've been very busy and dont have time to really dig in and knock it out.

i'm just going to run it on windows because the benefit of running it on linux isnt there.
