"He solved the problem very quickly. He did the right thing. Good guy," Trump said. However, while Trump's issue with Amazon seems to have been settled, that didn't stop the President's Press Secretary from tying Amazon to Chinese propaganda. The company "partnered with a Chinese propaganda arm," she said.

This makes me wonder if Leavitt was speaking for Trump, the Trump administration in general, or for herself.

She was probably just flinging something at the wall to see if it would
    stick.

Amazon has since confirmed that it had "considered the idea of listing import charges on certain products," however "this was never approved

And I'm not sure if that "consideration" was weighed by Bezos, the Amazon corporation, or what. Doesn't it seem like it would be a dumb move for Amazon though? It would have been like saying "Look at these tariffed prices and thin
about whether or not you still want to buy it." (Passing the blame for high prices does not seem like a good sales maneuver.)

I did think it was a good idea. If the prices are going to go up anyway,
I as a consumer would sure like to know why, whether it is a tariff that
causes it, or some silly tax that my state comes up with. It is good to
    see things itemized.

My electric bill reached historic highs during the Biden administration. Same thing with car insurance, home insurance, and egg prices. And good thing I don't need to buy a car because look at the insane prices on those since Bidenflation began.

It got so bad that I couldn't afford to buy anything on Amazon. (I noticed this when I logged on to Amazon a couple days ago and saw "No purchases in the last 12 months.")

So it annoys me when people start complaining about Trump causing prices to rise, because I haven't seen that happen. (Did Trump cause battery operated drones to go up in price? How about taxidermied animals?) and I'm still waiting for someone to do something about the prices that rose while Biden was in charge.

    nyway,
I as a consumer would sure like to know why, whether it is a tariff that causes it, or some silly tax that my state comes up with. It is good to see things itemized.

    (1) Cars have been going up for a while now, even/especially used ones,
    since long before Biden took office;
    (2) Same thing with insurance;
    (3) you have mentioned the electric bill before -- IIRC it was high but actually got higher real recently, like after Trump took office and after
the tariff war with Canada re: electricity supplied to northern tier
    states, right?
    (4) Biden didn't cause bird flu but, yes, you have me on eggs.

It got so bad that I couldn't afford to buy anything on Amazon. (I noticed
    hi
when I logged on to Amazon a couple days ago and saw "No purchases in the
    ast
    12 months.")

Amazon is handy for things you cannot find locally but, a lot of times (and especially if you have a Wal-Mart or other such retailer around) the local prices are going to be better on the things that are available locally.

So it annoys me when people start complaining about Trump causing prices to rise, because I haven't seen that happen. (Did Trump cause battery operated drones to go up in price? How about taxidermied animals?) and I'm still
    aitin
for someone to do something about the prices that rose while Biden was in charge.

I have seen some rise and some stay the same. I have yet to see any fall despite Trump's promises that they would. I was just at the grocery this morning. One food item that I used to be able to buy for $2.50 to $3.00
100 days ago is now closing on $4.50. I didn't buy it this time. Another
had spiked somewhere between 25-30% over the same time frame and I didn't
buy. That was at Wal-Mart. I would hate to price the items at Kroger.

The price of cereal was going up under Biden and has continued going up
since Trump took office. The price of a box has nearly doubled over the
    past ~2 years.

Fuel prices were going down late last year, while Biden was still in
office. They continued going down until at least inauguration day,
possibly a little longer. They have gone back up some since, but are not spiking. Instead of being around $3+ like they were last year, they are
    around $2.50-$2.70 now.

So it annoys me when people start claiming that Trump is causing prices to
go down on anything besides eggs, and it also annoys me when Trump gets in front of a camera and claims that fuel prices are down below $2 when
Gasbuddy can't find any in the continental US that is that price (I have
    not checked today).
