MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
Title: Chicken Tikka Masala

29 oz Can tomato puree
1 1/2 c Plain yogurt
1/2 lg Onion; fine chopped
2 tb Olive oil
4 1/2 ts Minced fresh gingerroot
4 cl Garlic; minced
1 tb Garam masala
2 1/2 ts Salt
1 1/2 ts Ground cumin
1 ts Paprika
3/4 ts Pepper
1/2 ts Cayenne pepper
1/4 ts Ground cinnamon
2 1/2 lb Boned, skinned chicken; in
- 1 1/2" cubes
1 Jalapeno pepper; halved,
- seeded
1 Bay leaf
1 tb Cornstarch
1 c Heavy whipping cream
Hot cooked basmati rice
Chopped fresh cilantro; opt
In a 5 qt. slow cooker, combine the first 13
ingredients. Add chicken, jalapeno and bay leaf. Cook,
covered, on low 4 hours or until chicken is tender.
Remove jalapeno and bay leaf.
In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and cream until smooth;
gradually stir into sauce. Cook, covered, on high 15-20
minutes or until sauce is thickened. Serve with rice. If
desired, sprinkle with cilantro.
