    Obsolete CHRS indentifier. Should be CP437 or CP850.

    See FTS-5003.01. Par 5. Obsolete indentifiers.

    BOC. This is 20th-century software. At least it was one of a few from the era, that handled MSGID/REPLYID properly -- a decade before most other systems -- and used it for comment linking.

    As Wilfred pointed out, it also lacks the TZUTC kludge. But at least I managed to hack the software to make it Y2K ready. One of many EXE files I used DEBUG.COM to disassemble in 1999...

    Keep calm. :-) Magic takes time to flow...

    Which software are you using?

    Default it uses a vi-like clone for editing, but with the ANSI flag on, I get Quicked. A hacked version, where quoting is disabled.

    My TCL was a true kom-BBS (a Swedish speciality) with comment linking even before MSGID -- it used its own TCL flag, years before MSGID -- so no quoting was allowed, since it was not needed.

    There was even an FTSC proposal for the TCL kludge, but I don't know how far it got in the process; the MSGID kludge had a better PR department... ;)

    The entire net 2:202/xxx was entirely for TCL-BBSes...

    Wow! -> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KOM_(bulletin_board_system)

    before MSGID -- it used its own TCL flag, years before MSGID -- so no quoting was allowed, since it was not needed.

    It's very curious... And the release date (1978) is very similar to the CBBS release... It's like the BBS virus spread out spontaneously around the globe.

    The entire net 2:202/xxx was entirely for TCL-BBSes...

    Awesome... I confess that I also thought that all BBSing from the primigenious times was limited to IBM PC compatibles, and I only recently realized my mistake.
