Several months ago, Joe (or someone else) announced that he was ill and
might be more absent. Unfortunately, I don't think we've heard from him
    since. ;(

    Wish I had better news.

I will sometimes think of a memory I would like to share but, by the time I
am in front of the PC again, I have long since forgotten what it was! :D

Would a piece of paper and a lencil in one of your pockets help?

In my thirties I would walk downstairs to the basement and forget what I went there for.

A cell phone with an audio recorder app would provide a more immediate solution. In leu of that, a pocket voice recorder would serve as well.

Could but I would have to be wearing something with pockets. ;)

When I was younger I used to hear older people say things like that and
think it was funny... not because I didn't believe them but because I
already knew what they meant. :D

Adding to what Mortar M suggested:
If you have a small tape recorder that has a shoulder strap I think it could help you.
