Do we maintain a list of what Point software currently works?
Are there how-to guides we can coach someone as they work through?
Two that I know of offhand are WinPoint and OpenXP.

There is a list of FidoNet Software in the weekly FidoNews magazine, published in the echo of the same name.

I don't operate a point, but I know there is product-specific documentation for all of the well-known packages.

I have a full node number, but I use sempoint which is an old windows
3.1 program. I use that "msdos player" which wraps a 64bit shell around it somehow and allows it to run on Windows 11.

Can you give me a pointer to that "msdos player" of which you speak?
Or is it a part of Windows 11 that I don't know about?

Sure. The URL is quite long so I ran it through a URL shortner run
by sdf.org which is a safe one.

This has all the information you need about it. As I write this in Sempoint it's running from a double click on my windows 11 desktop.
:)
Okay, that's great - it's much appreciated!
