    RULING (3 MINUTE READ) [12]

Google has responded to the Justice Department's suggestions to curb
its monopoly in the search business with a proposal that allows
flexibility in browser deals and preloading search engines while
    ensuring compliance measures.

PALANTIR AND ANDURIL REPORTEDLY BUILDING A TECH CONSORTIUM TO BID ON

Palantir and Anduril are talking to tech companies, including SpaceX,

This reminds of something: I'm in the process of building my own search engine. I have a long way to go, but it's coming along nicely.

I wanted to set my search engine as the default search engine in Chrome, but I couldn't do it. It won't let me. My choices are Google, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, and that's about it. And there's no "option to add" another one.

I wonder what they mean by "ensuring compliance measures?" Do newcomer search engines need to comply with Google's community standards in order to be used with Chrome? (Sounds like it)

Those are the default choices. I am not sure if it still works or not, but
I was able to go to startpage.com, click on a link, and then have it added
    as my default search engine.

Maybe to be included as a default. Sounds like there is a way to add some
code to your page, like startpage did, to allow it to be added as a default.

Keep us posted on your project.

Where did you find the link? I looked but didn't see that anywhere.

It's a multipurpose website. Sort of a Facebook/Google/Zoom hybrid. First I built a social network for managing friendships and sharing status updates. Then I added a video conferencing system where meetings can be either private or publicly accessed.

And now I'm tying in the search engine. I want this to be the primary feature, but it has a long way to go. I don't plan on employing a web crawler, and I just want webmasters to submit their page(s) manually.

I want to fight back against the media for all the harm they've been causing us.

If you go to startpage.com, you will probably have to scroll down a bit to
find it, but it is a button labeled "Set as Homepage."

Thanks, I finally found it. Now I'm trying to figure out how they did that.

You probably already know this, but you can view the page source, which
won't help much if they imbeded something that cannot be seen.
